Coroner: Drugs, alcohol killed EDC attendee

The cause of death of an Electric Daisy Carnival attendee who died last month was released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Anthony Anaya, 25, from Everett, Wash., died from a combination of alcohol, Ecstasy and cocaine intoxication, the coroner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.

Anaya was taken to Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center on June 22 after being taken from the Vdara Hotel on the Strip where he was staying.

Police said that Anaya attended the festival, but that they were not looking into the incident.

Anaya’s death is one of two connected to the festival.

Early morning on June 23, Montgomery Tsang, 24, from San Leandro, Calif., died at a hospital after collapsing at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway when he was leaving the festival. He died of an Ecstasy overdose, the coroner said.

Joey Saychack, 21, of Fresno, Calif., died of unknown causes on June 26. The coroner said Saychack, who was in the city for EDC, was found unconscious at a house he and his friends rented on June 20. He did not attend the festival, the coroner said. His cause of death has not been released.

EDC was held June 20 to 22. Each day drew crowds of more than 130,000 attendees, according to event organizers.
