Coroner IDs Las Vegas man in apparent murder-suicide

The Clark County coroner’s office on Wednesday released the name of the man who was found on Tuesday night after an apparent murder-suicide in a central valley home.

Robert Alfred Hender, 69, of Las Vegas, was found with the body of woman, who has not yet been identified, inside a home in the 2100 block of Plaza Del Padre, near Sahara Avenue and Valley View Boulevard, about 7:15 p.m., Las Vegas police said.

Following a welfare check, officers discovered the bodies, both with gunshot wounds. It appeared that Hender shot the woman before shooting himself, police said.

Hender’s cause of death and the woman’s identity are pending, the coroner’s office said.
