Driver suspected of impairment after crashing into pole, Las Vegas police say

A man is in custody after crashing a car into a traffic pole in the central valley Thursday afternoon.

Just after noon, Metro officers in an unmarked police vehicle discovered the car crashed into the pole at the intersection of West Bonanza Road and North City Parkway, spokesman Jesse Roybal said.

The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, is suspected of impairment, police said.

The driver will be taken to Las Vegas Detention Center, but it is unclear what charges he will face. It’s not clear if the man was injured.

No further information was immediately available.
