Fire causes evacuation of Rumor hotel on Harmon Avenue

The Clark County and Las Vegas fire departments are investigating a fire that led to the evacuation of the Rumor Boutique Hotel on Monday afternoon.

Just before 1:50 p.m., crews responded to a report of a fire at 455 E. Harmon Ave., the Clark County Fire Department said. Upon arrival, firefighters noticed smoke coming from the two-story hotel. The fire began in a void space above a small bathroom on the first floor. The fire’s cause hasn’t been determined, the department said,

Firefighters extinguished the fire in about 10 minutes, the department said. The hotel was safely evacuated, and crews ventilated the building before occupants returned to their rooms.

No injuries were reported; the amount of damage has not been determined.

As of 6 p.m., the hotel is open and functioning for business, the department said. However, a restaurant and bar near the check-in hotel ‘s check-in desk are closed.
