Henderson bank robbery suspect arrested

A man accused of robbing a Bank of the West in Henderson Wednesday morning was arrested in Las Vegas a short while later, police said.

Scott Davenport, 51, about just before noon entered the bank, 701 N. Valle Verde Drive, and handed a note to a cashier “demanding” money, Henderson police said. He did not use a weapon.

Witness descriptions of the robber and the vehicle used during the robbery led Henderson detectives, in coordination with the FBI and Metro, to Davenport, police said. He was arrested at a bus stop near Boulder Highway and Nellis Boulevard, about four miles from the bank.

Davenport had money from the robbery, and “further evidence” of his involvement was found in his apartment, police said.

He was booked into the Henderson Detention Center where he faces charges of robbery and burglary, police said.
