Las Vegas girl who drowned at Fourth of July party had rare heart condition, coroner says

The Clark County coroner’s office released the cause of death for a 6-year-old girl who drowned at a Fourth of July party.

Jael McKnight was found at the bottom of a pool after family members noticed she was missing from the backyard party in the northwest valley.

McKnight died from drowning with another significant condition. The coroner ruled that she was also suffering from lymphatic myocarditis, a rare heart disease. Her death was ruled an accident.
