Man found dead in downtown Las Vegas alley identified

The man found dead in a downtown alley Friday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Jeremy Louis Arkansas, a 38-year-old Las Vegas man, was found just after 9 a.m. in an alley at 600 S. 10th St., Near East Bonneville Avenue and South Maryland Parkway, police said.

Officers found a homeless man with “obvious signs of trauma to his face,” according to a Metro news release. The man, later identified as Arkansas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Metro homicide detectives said Arkansas had been involved in a fight the night before, the release said. “During the course of the autopsy, it was found that the victim had a large skull fracture,” it said. The Clark County coroner’s office, however, has not released the cause and manner of death.
