Man shot, killed near Torrey Pines and Harmon

Las Vegas police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man connected to the fatal shooting of a 32-year-old man in his southwest valley garage early Monday morning.

The man sought is 30-year-old Julio Rodriguez. Police described him as a 5-foot-6-inch, 170-pound man with close-cropped dark hair and brown eyes.

Police said Rodriguez pulled up to the house in the 6400 block of Gunderson Boulevard, near Torrey Pines Drive and Harmon Avenue, in a black 1999 Mercedes SUV with large chrome rims and tinted windows, police wrote in a release Monday.

The man who was shot approached Rodriguez’s SUV and the two men began to argue. Rodriguez displayed a handgun and multiple shots were fired as the 32-year-old man ran from the car, the release said.

Police received multiple calls of hearing gunshots about 4:46 a.m. One of the calls came from the 32-year-old man’s roommate.

The man who was shot was taken to University Medical Center where he died.

It appeared that Rodriguez knew both the 32-year-old and his roommate and that the shooting was not gang- or robbery-related, police said.

Another person was in the car with Rodriguez when he fled, said police, who did not provide additional details.

“Rodriguez should be considered armed and dangerous,” police wrote in the release.
