Motorcyclist killed in U.S. 95 collision in Las Vegas identified

The man killed in a Friday evening motorcycle accident on U.S. Highway 95 was identified Saturday by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Motorcyclist Karl Chadwick, 49, of Henderson, died of multiple injuries due to a collision, the coroner said.

Chadwick was speeding north on U.S. 95 near Horizon Drive just after 6 p.m. when he collided with two vehicles and then veered into the right shoulder, according to Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Loy Hixson.

Chadwick was separated from the motorcycle, which was propelled forward without a rider until it came to a stop and caught on fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Hixson said.

The driver of one of the other vehicles was taken to University Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening. No one else was injured in the crash.
