Police say fatal shooting happened during house party

The Monday shooting that left one man dead appears to have happened during a house party, Las Vegas police say.

Officers responded to Barium Rock Avenue, near El Capitan Way and Iron Mountain Road, just after 12:30 a.m and found 19-year-old Morland Richeyelder unresponsive with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the shooting happened during a house party with about 70 people.

Richeyelder was shot near the driveway and ran through the party to get away from the shooter, police said. He got to the backyard before collapsing.

Party attendees were trying to get him to a car so they could drive him to the hospital when officers arrived.

So far, police have not identified any suspects. The Clark County coroner’s office said his official cause of death was gunshot wounds to the neck.
