Shots fired during early morning brawl at Gold Coast Casino

Tragedy nearly struck when an early morning brawl at a central valley casino turned into gunfire Saturday.

Luckily, Las Vegas police said no one was hit.

Officers were called to the Gold Coast Casino, 4000 W. Flamingo Rd., about 2:30 a.m. to look into calls about gunshots.

Lt. Rick Given, a Metropolitan Police Department supervisor, said four shots were fired during a melee between two groups of people at the casino. Both groups left the scene before officers arrived.

Detectives are using surveillance footage to identify the brawlers, Given said. No arrests had been announced as of 7:30 a.m.
