Space available for children in Clark County summer camps

There's still time to register for Clark County's weeklong summer camps.

Spaces are available for boys and girls in the On the Edge Teen Camp, and for girls in the Omni Discovery Camp.

Camps will be held in Camp Lee Canyon, about 45 minutes northwest of the Las Vegas Valley.

The On the Edge Camp for 13- to 15-year-olds will take place July 17 to 22. It features bouldering, slacklining, geocaching, mountain biking, hiking, a one-night camp out under the stars and a teen dance with a live disc jockey.

The Omni Camp for 8- to 12-year-olds will run July 24 to 29. Campers will learn about unique plant and animal life of the Spring Mountains and Mojave Desert. They will participate in interactive classes in art, science, creative movement, music and outdoor recreation.

Both camps will have traditional activities such as hiking, archery, campfires, sing-a-longs and cabin skits.
