Station Casinos unveils new discount program for veterans

To honor military members and veterans and to raise money for a Fisher House for wounded warriors, Station Casinos has launched a “Military Mondays” initiative with special discounts and events at the company’s properties.

Under the program that started Monday, Station Casinos will offer qualified veterans, military retirees and members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard and reserves a special Boarding Pass card. It will open the door to discounts on dining, hotel, food and beverages, gaming, bowling, and Kid’s Quests in addition to specials sponsored by Budweiser.

The commemorative Boarding Pass, emblazoned with a U.S. flag and gold ribbon, can be picked up at any Station Casinos or Fiesta rewards center by presenting a valid military or veteran identification.

On Memorial Day, Station Casinos will host a free slot tournament for all Boarding Pass card holders.

The company will pledge $1 for every participant, up to $10,000, to the nonprofit Nevada Military Support Alliance, with 100 percent of donations going toward construction of the Las Vegas Fisher House at the Southern Nevada Veterans Affairs Medical Center in North Las Vegas.

The slot tournament will have 50 winners at each Station Casinos and Fiesta property, with the top prize of $2,000.

“Each Boarding Pass member redeeming the first free entry into the slot tournament will also receive a complimentary ribbon pin to support our troops, with the choice of a yellow ribbon to honor fallen soldiers or a red, white and blue ribbon for patriotism,” according to a company press release.

Additional benefits for veterans and military members will be added throughout the year.

The Nevada Military Support Alliance has pledged to raise $3 million to build a local Fisher House that provides a free home away from home for military members and veterans, and their families, who need longer-term medical care and rehabilitation services. Nevada is the only state with a major military facility that doesn’t have a Fisher House.

Station Casino properties offering the Military Mondays initiative include Boulder Station, Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho, Green Valley Ranch Resort, Palace Station, Red Rock Resort, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station, Texas Station, Wild Wild West and several smaller properties under the Wildfire gaming division.
