Tips from public, detectives lead to suspected bank robber’s arrest

Tips from both detectives and the public led to a suspected bank robber's arrest Wednesday morning, Las Vegas police said that night.

Police initially asked for help Tuesday in identifying a man they say robbed a west valley bank Saturday. Thanks to the tips, Lukas Santos, 29, was arrested and taken into custody the following morning on charges of robbery and burglary.

He was booked at the Clark County Detention Center and as of Wednesday night was being held on $30,000 bail.

Nobody was harmed when the unarmed man entered the bank, in the 2000 block of Village Center Circle, near the intersection of Summerlin Parkway and Town Center Drive, Metro wrote in a release. But an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.
