Visitors get in free this weekend at Red Rock Canyon

With springlike weather on tap, Las Vegas residents seeking to enjoy the outdoors have another incentive to get outside: free entry into Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area during the three-day Presidents Day weekend.

It could be just the ticket for a romantic Valentine's Day outing Sunday.

Entrance fees to Red Rock Canyon will be waived from Saturday through Monday, the Bureau of Land Management announced. Other fees, such as overnight camping and group day use fees, will still apply.

Red Rock Canyon also will have free entrance Sept. 24 for National Public Lands Day and Nov. 11 for Veteran's Day, the bureau said.
