Wednesday fire damages Henderson home

A Henderson family escaped their burning home without injury Wednesday morning.

Before she saw smoke and realized her home in the 3100 block of High View Drive was on fire, Lorna Butz said she heard a series of subtle pops.

First responders were called about 7:50 a.m. to the house, near the intersection of Sunset Road and Green Valley Parkway, Kathleen Richards, spokeswoman for the Henderson Fire Department, said.

The blaze started in the single-story home’s garage.

Butz’s husband told the Review-Journal that he ties fishing flies and that the fire destroyed hundreds of them.

No estimate on the cost of damages was available.
