Woman identified in apparent murder-suicide

The woman found dead in a central valley home Tuesday night was identified Saturday by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Monica Jayne Horan, 59, of Las Vegas, died of a gunshot wound to the head, the coroner said. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Horan’s body was discovered with the body of 69-year-old Robert Alfred Hender after an apparent murder-suicide in the 2100 block of Plaza Del Padre, near Sahara Avenue and Valley View Boulevard.

It appeared that Hender shot the woman before shooting himself, police said.

Hender, who was identified Thursday, died of a gunshot wound to the head. The coroner’s office ruled his death a suicide.
