Man shot, killed in northeast Las Vegas

A man died after being shot during an apparent home invasion in the northeast Las Vegas Valley Sunday evening, Las Vegas police said.

Officers responded to the 6600 block of Evening Rain Avenue, near Carey Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, just before 6 p.m. Sunday to reports of a man being shot, Lt. Craig Klatt said.

Police found the man suffering from gunshot wounds in the garage of the residence. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries, Klatt said.

“Our preliminary investigation at this point has revealed that this may be robbery motivated. However, we have not confirmed that to this point,” homicide Lt. Ray Steiber said Sunday night.

Witnesses saw two suspects leaving the area in a white minivan, according to police.

“At this time we have not identified any suspects and have not located that vehicle,” Steiber said.
