Absences declined to a third of the enrollment at Marion Earl Elementary School today after peaking at nearly 60 percent on Friday, school officials said.
Earl, at 6650 W. Reno Ave. near Torrey Pines Drive and Tropicana Avenue, reported 205 absences today compared with 365 on Friday. The school has an enrollment of 614.
Students have been staying away from the year-round school after health officials documented four cases of students contracting swine flu on June 10.
School officials don’t know how many students are staying home because they’re sick or as a health precaution.
