How US Vets help the homeless — VIDEO

U.S. Vets-Las Vegas and co-sponsors held the 13th annual veterans stand down Wednesday to help homeless veterans combat life on the streets.

The event continues Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Cashman Center. Director Shalimar Cabrera said assistance offered to homeless vets includes housing placement, employment and education assistance as well as dental and vision care, showers and haircuts.
