Motorcyclist dies after crashing into wall near Las Vegas Strip


A motorcycle rider died after crashing into a cement barricade near Tropicana Avenue and Dean Martin Drive early Monday morning.

The Clark County Coroner’s office identified the rider as 22-year-old Christopher Lawrence Carle of Las Vegas.

Carle was riding a 2009 Honda motorcycle traveling north on Dean Martin Drive at a high rate of speed, said Las Vegas police spokesman Lt. Dave Gordon.

He failed to make a left turn onto Tropicana Avenue and crashed into a wall about 3 a.m. Carle was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police are still investigating the incident, which is the 90th traffic fatality within Las Vegas police’s jurisdiction this year.
