Body of missing man found in Arizona desert

The body of a Kingman, Ariz., man who was reported missing by his mother last month was located in the Golden Valley desert Thursday.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death of Gregory Andrew Peters, 27.

His mother reported him missing May 15, telling authorities he had a history of depression and a habit of driving around the desert and nearby mountains. His vehicle was spotted by an Arizona Department of Safety helicopter that was performing another mission Thursday afternoon.

Mohave County sheriff's office spokeswoman Trish Carter said deputies verified that it was Peters' Dodge Nitro that was parked in a wash near Shinarump Drive. She said search and rescue personnel located his body some 400 yards from his vehicle.

Carter said foul play is not suspected.
