IHOP shooter's brother arrested in domestic case

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. -- Authorities say the brother of the man who opened fire with an AK-47 last month at a Carson City IHOP restaurant has been arrested on a domestic battery charge.

South Lake Tahoe police told the Tahoe Daily Tribune that 38-year-old Israel Sencion Gonzalez was found in a bathroom at the Montbleu casino in Stateline and arrested about 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Gonzalez was named in a warrant issued after a 2 a.m. Sunday incident left a 29-year-old woman bruised and bloodied at their Elwood Avenue home.

Sgt. Shannon Laney said the woman reported that Gonzalez has been increasingly upset since his brother's death.

Police said Gonzalez's 32-year-old brother, Eduardo Sencion, killed four people were and wounded seven before shooting himself dead Sept. 6.
