Nevada controller applauded for financial management

CARSON CITY — Nevada state Controller Kim Wallin has been recognized by a national organization for her efforts on government financial management and accountability.

Wallin received a President’s Award last month from the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers during the group’s annual conference in Boston.

Wallin was honored for her work as co-chairwoman of the organization’s continuing disclosures task force and her involvement in an exchange program with the Mexico comptroller’s association.

A certified public and management accountant, Wallin was elected state controller in 2006 and re-elected in 2010.

She is termed out and cannot seek re-election next year.
