Idaho man dead after Nye County crash

An Idaho man died Tuesday evening in a rollover crash in Nye County, the Nevada Highway Patrol announced Wednesday.

The driver of the gray 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 was headed north on State Route 318, south of mile marker 11, at 7:23 p.m. Tuesday when the crash happened, NHP wrote in a release Wednesday.

Preliminary investigation revealed the driver, 34-year-old Jacob Mulberry, from Kimberly, Idaho, was driving over the speed limit when his truck ran off the right side of the road and entered the dirt shoulder, the release said.

Mulberry over-corrected and steered the Dodge to the left, the release said. The truck rotated counterclockwise across the highway and ran off the right side where it rolled over.

Mulberry was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle, NHP said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

This was the 12th fatal crash in NHP’s jurisdiction this year.
