Inmate from Clark County dies at Reno hospital

An inmate at Lovelock Correctional Center died Friday night at a Reno hospital. according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Mark Clewis, 65, died about 7 p.m. at Renown Medical Center. Clewis was committed to Lovelock from Clark County in 1992. He was serving a life sentence for multiple crimes including ex-felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and habitual criminal, corrections department said in a news release.

The Washoe County Coroner will determine the cause of death, and next of kin have been notified.
