The Light the Night Walk to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is planned for 6 p.m. Nov. 2 at Kellogg Zaher Park, 7901 W. Washington Ave. Check-in and festivities are set for 4 p.m., with a Remembrance Ceremony set for 4:30 p.m. Food, entertainment, illuminated balloons and goodies also are planned. Become a Champion for Cures by raising $100 or more, raise $250 or more to receive other incentives or raise $1,000 or more to become a Bright Lights Club member. The Animal Foundation and Outside Las Vegas Foundation plan to host the Forever Home Family Picnic and 4k9 Run at 9 a.m. Nov. 3 at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road. Reality television star Holly Madison is scheduled to attend the dog-friendly event, which will raise funds for both nonprofit groups. A 2.5-mile run or walk is planned along the advanced trail system. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., owners and their dogs are invited to the picnic, which will include a 1-mile walk at 11 a.m., free microchipping and grooming, fun pet contests judged by Madison, live entertainment from The Randy Anderson Band and Forgotten Door, a pet-friendly fair with games, activities and vendors, and raffles and giveaways. Run registration is $44 per human/canine duo (picnic admission included) and admission to the picnic only is $10 per person. Pup Packs are available for dogs attending the picnic for $5 each. Mickie Finnz Fish House & Bar and The Animal Network plan their Pins for Pets Bowling, Brew & BBQ fundraiser for 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive. The event is set to include two hours of bowling (including rental shoes), a pitcher of brew per lane for those 21 or older, barbecue by Mickie Finnz Fish House & Bar, a variety of silent auction items, mystery prizes and more.
