The Day Southern Nevada Shook
Just before noon on May 4, 1988, the PEPCON plant in the southeast Las Vegas Valley exploded, taking with it two lives. The area was transformed into a mess of smoke, shrapnel and marshmallow from the nearby Kidd & Co. factory. Ten years later, life is different at ground zero.
