Police investigate human jawbone found at Lake Mead

Divers with the Las Vegas police searched for human remains in Lake Mead on Friday after a jawbone was found Thursday.

National Park Service spokesman Andrew Munoz said a park visitor discovered the bone and called police, who contacted park officials.

Munoz said human remains are found in the park about two or three times a year. Because of a lack of identifying features, the cases often go unsolved.
