Police: Suicide threat briefly closes U.S. 95 at Cheyenne

U.S. Highway 95 was briefly shut down at Cheyenne Avenue as police investigated a possibly suicidal person threatening to jump from an overpass.

Authorities said northbound and southbound lanes were diverted about 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday as police talked to the person. The person came down from the overpass about 10:45 a.m.

Nevada Highway Patrol was handling the traffic; Las Vegas police officers negotiated with the person.
