Rain pours on parts of Las Vegas Valley

Parts of the Las Vegas Valley, including the Strip, received some rain tonight as Clark County was under a severe thunderstorm watch for much of the day.

Rain hit the northern and western portions of Las Vegas, as well as North Las Vegas early in the evening. The Spring Mountains and eastern Clark County, including Mesquite, also saw some thunderstorm activity today. It was also cooler as the official high was 96 degrees, several degrees short of the average high for Aug. 8.
