Teenage girl shot in east valley, in 'extremely critical condition'

A 17-year-old girl was in "extremely critical condition" after being shot in the head late Friday, Las Vegas police said.

Lt. Dan McGrath said police were alerted to the shooting that occurred at 8:45 p.m. at a residence on the 2900 block of Beacon Falls Way, near Vegas Valley Drive and Nellis Boulevard.

McGrath said the shooting appeared to be gang related.

The girl, whose identity was not released, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, McGrath said.
