A toddler was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after an incident in a west valley pool, which Las Vegas police have classified as a near drowning.

The 2-year-old girl is being treated at University Medical Center’s pediatric center, Metro Lt. Dave Valenta said. Information on her condition was not immediately available.

First responders were called about 3:30 p.m. to a home in the 6500 block of Casada Way, near the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive, Valenta said. The incident happened in a pool, but information surrounding the near drowning was not immediately available.
