North Las Vegas police have arrested two more teens in connection with the Thursday murder of an off-duty Las Vegas police officer.
Quadrae Scott and Emmitt Ferguson, both 18, were booked into the North Las Vegas Detention Center on Sunday. Scott has been charged with murder with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery. The murder and robbery charges carry gang enhancement penalties that stiffen charges. Ferguson has been charged with accessory to murder after the fact.
Police also believe they have recovered the weapon that was used to shoot 30-year-old Trevor Nettleton. Police said they are awaiting confirmation from ballistics testing.
Authorities have made five arrests in Nettleton's death. The husband and father of two small children was gunned down shortly after midnight Thursday in the garage of his home on Emerald Stone Avenue, near Lone Mountain Road and Bruce Street.
Saul Williams Jr., 20, Prentice Marshall, 18, and a 17-year-old whose name has not been released were arrested last week. Each faces charges of murder with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted robbery with a deadly weapon. Police have also added gang enhancements to the charges.
Police also announced Sunday that Marshall and the 17-year-old are being charged with robbery with a deadly weapon in connection with a separate robbery that took place less than an hour before Nettleton's death.
Police accuse the two of robbing an 18-year-old North Las Vegas resident at gunpoint near Cheyenne Avenue and Simmons Street.
A candlelight vigil for Nettleton will be held today at 4 p.m. in front of the Metropolitan Police Department's Bolden Area Command, at 1851 Stella Lake St, near Lake Mead Boulevard and Martin Luther King Boulevard. The public is invited to attend.
