Utah teen dies in Arizona crash

A Utah teenager died in a single-vehicle crash late Saturday in a rural area of northern Arizona.

Mohave County deputies responded to the rollover crash of a Jeep Wrangler at about 11:45 p.m. on Bureau of Land Management Road 1069, about 30 miles south of St. George, Utah, according to Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Trish Carter.

Brooks Johnson, 18, of Santa Clara, was dead at the scene, she said. He was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected when the Jeep rolled. The driver of the vehicle, Connor Livingston, 20, and two other passengers, Brayden Oaks, 18, and Jace Graft, 20, all of southern Utah, were transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George for treatment of their injuries.

Carter said investigators believe excessive speed played a role but that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
