Which Hollywood leading man has the body, and the bravado, to re-create Burt Reynolds’ iconic Cosmopolitan centerfold? We hear editor Joanna Coles has been taking the temperature of actors including Hugh Jackman, Bradley Cooper and Daniel Craig about posing in the buff on a bearskin rug like Reynolds did in 1972. When Mayor Bloomberg mentioned the image during Helen Gurley Brown’s memorial last fall, Coles quipped Hizzoner had the “right of first refusal” to re-create it. Then at the Golden Globes, Coles was overheard floating the offer to Jackman and Craig, though we hear Cooper is her favorite. Then again, Reynolds wasn’t Brown’s top choice 41 years ago: Paul Newman turned her down.
