Gorman student 'marries' Tebow

Savannah Stallworth wasn't the only female at Canyon Ridge Christian Church who was crushing on Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.

But the 18-year-old senior at Bishop Gorman High School was the only member of her theology class project who, over Christmas break, chose Tebow as her pretend-husband at her mock May 5 wedding.

"My dad, being a Oakland Raiders fan, said, 'Seriously, you're going to marry a Bronco?' " said Stallworth. Her father, Steve Stallworth, is general manager of the South Point Arena and a former quarterback at UNLV.

She and her family were among an estimated 20,000-plus who turned out to see one of Tebow's four appearances at the church over the weekend.

She was smitten several years ago, after seeing him play for the University of Florida during one of her family's traditional bowl outings.

Her mother, Stephanie, and brother, Stetson, were thrilled with her choice.

"Stetson was jumping for joy. He's a die-hard Broncos fans. He said, 'How do we make this happen?' "

The class project required the students to plan their wedding and place the details in a binder by January.

Her plans?

The wedding would be in Las Vegas at Cornerstone Christian Church, where she attended the church's academy.

And the honeymoon would start in Hawaii on the way to the Philippines "where we would do some mission there with his father and then we'd go to Costa Rica."

"My teacher underlined the Philippines and added a smiley face."

THE SCENE AND HEARD

Las Vegas Country Club resident Deanna Adler, mother of Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler, has completed her tenderly titled book "Sweet Child of Mine."

It is billed as "an honest and revealing look into a life beset by abuse and betrayal and what it was like raising a child who became a member of one of the greatest rock bands in history, and a heroin addict of equally epic proportions."
