Wynn might be tying a new knot

Rumors were flying Tuesday that hotel developer Steve Wynn and British girlfriend Andrea Hissom got engaged Monday in Las Vegas.

They met in the summer of 2008 in Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera and had their first date on his yacht.

After a romantic dinner Wynn, 68, played the movie "Gigi," in which Louis Jourdan's character falls for his young mistress, Gigi, played by Leslie Caron.

"We were just friends at the time," Hissom told a Hong Kong paper last year. "But the film had a lot of meaning because the two people who meet in it have a lot of issues to overcome before they can be together. He was making a point to me with this film that there are things to overcome, but it's doable."

Wynn divorced Elaine Wynn in January 2009. Hissom, in her 40s, is a divorcee with two sons in their teens.

Elaine Wynn, who still resides in Wynn Las Vegas but at a distance from the Steve Wynn-Hissom villa, reportedly was in New York on Monday.

That weekend sighting of Nora Ephron with a dinner party that included Elaine Wynn at SW Steakhouse at Wynn Las Vegas is raising eyebrows.

Ephron, the celebrated screenwriter, director, Oscar nominee and wife of author-screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi, is founding editor of the new divorce section of the news website for Arianna Huffington.

Ephron, Wynn and Huffington have messy divorces in common: Ephron from Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein; Huffington from former U.S. Congressman Michael Huffington, who later went public that he was bisexual; and Wynn, who received one of the largest divorce settlements in U.S. history about a year ago.

But don't expect to find Elaine Wynn's byline in TheHuffingtonPost.com. It's highly unlikely her settlement, worth about $740 million, came without an iron-clad confidentiality clause.

Tali De'Mar, the burlesque act in "Striptease the Show" at the Sahara, is leaving soon, which might explain the 2 a.m. tweets she posted on her Twitter feed early Sunday.

"Ive realized this hotel is filled with hookers, so now I know the men dont recognize me from the show or ad, they r just wondering how much," she wrote in a 2:06 a.m. tweet.

Ten minutes later, she added: "Tonight @tayaparker1 had a great idea, we applied for official hotel name badges @ the front desk so we are not mistaken for hookers anymore."

De'Mar was referring to show co-star Taya Parker, the Penthouse model who won rocker Bret Michaels' affections in the third season of VH1's "Rock of Love."
