Nevada group starts 2 ads supporting expanded background checks for guns

Nevadans for Background Checks launched two ads Friday in support of Question 1, the ballot initiative proposing to expand firearm background checks to private-party sales and transfers.
The ads were scheduled to run in Las Vegas and Reno.
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson appears in an ad in Las Vegas saying background checks have stopped more than 5,000 prohibited possessors from buying guns in the state.
An ad in Reno features a man named Paul Larsen saying he’s a National Rifle Association member who supports the initiative.
The NRA is campaigning against Question 1. Nevada voters will decide the issue in November.
