Bill Clinton coming to Vegas for campaign event

Former President Bill Clinton will be stumping in support of Hillary Clinton in Las Vegas on Friday.

Clinton also has an event in Pahrump on Saturday in support of the former secretary of state and first lady.

At both events, Clinton will lay out what's at stake and give his take on why Clinton is the best choice for "shared prosperity for all," the campaign said.

Clinton's visit comes as Hillary Clinton faces a challenging race ahead in the New Hampshire primary against U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who has polled well in New Hampshire and has the advantage of being from a neighboring New England state. Earlier this week, she won the Iowa caucuses by a margin of less than 1 percent.

It underscores Nevada's importantace as an early voting state that will be a key factor in the race. For Democrats, Nevada is the third state after Iowa and New Hampshire, and the caucuses are Feb. 20.

Bill Clinton will speak at 7:15 p.m. Friday in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters International Training Center, 6801 Placid St. To attend, the public is required to RSVP, which can be done at https://www.hillaryclinton.com/events/view/1613872/.

The Pahrump event is at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Manse Elementary School, 4881 N. Lola Lane. To RSVP for the event, go to https://www.hillaryclinton.com/events/view/1613745/.

The former president campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Las Vegas on Jan. 21.
