O’Malley continues campaigning in Vegas at quieter Thursday event
Democratic presidential hopeful Martin O'Malley spoke to the Economic Club of Las Vegas Thursday.
The breakfast, which included a question and answer session, was a stark contrast in mood compared to the previous night's Sen. Harry Reid-hosted hoopla.
All three Democratic presidential candidates vied for Nevadans' votes Wednesday at a dinner at the MGM Grand held in preparation for Nevada's Feb. 20 caucus, which is the third in the nation and first in the West.
The hours-long Democratic festivity was a notably loud affair thanks to the Bernie Sanders campaign, which passed out vuvuzelas to supporters. The horns were so loud, the Vermont senator at times seemed annoyed with his own supporters' ruckus.
"We had a terrific night last night — except for the horns," O'Malley began when addressing the club Thursday morning.
About 50 people attended the nonpartisan club's breakfast at Caesars Palace.
"I truly believe that our economy is not money; it's people," said O'Malley, arguing in his speech to the club that the minimum wage should be raised, college should be less expensive and climate change needs the country's attention.
