North Las Vegas inks deals with 3 employee groups

North Las Vegas leaders signed off on a trio of agreements with city bargaining groups Wednesday, earning a standing ovation from dozens of police officers, firefighters and Teamsters who came to watch the vote.

A majority of voting rank-and-file members from each of those groups adopted the agreements that were unanimously approved by City Council members this week, ending a two-year, $25 million legal dispute over pay raises suspended in 2012.

It will be another two weeks before council members take up a fourth and final agreement with the city’s police supervisor’s union, the only one of four groups yet to adopt tentative settlement agreements reached with the city last month.
