The Club at Madeira Canyon provides year-round activities

The Club at Madeira Canyon, by Del Webb, offers a series of programmed activities, according to program director Michele Hopewell.

As an example, Hopewell cited the recently completed summer camps, which were designed to provide a way for residents to meet their new neighbors and enjoy fun activities. She said some of the camps were recreational, others educational. Some appealed to younger residents, while others targeted teens, and still others were geared toward adults. The camps were named Tennis and Fun, Mad Science, Arts & Crafts, Basketball, Hip Hop Dance, CPR/First Aid/AED, Water Safety, Internet Safety, Stranger Danger and Swim.

"The lifestyle and services we provide are all about convenience," Hopewell said. "Our activities are designed for people of all ages and having them so close to home is a unique convenience for our residents. Our homeowners need only walk down the street to enjoy fun activities with their neighbors.

"Our residents tend to be on the go and really value their time," she said. "Having activities come to them allows them to get much more enjoyment out of their leisure time."

Ongoing activities at The Club at Madeira Canyon are held at the community's clubhouse facilities, which include a swimming pool, spa, cardiovascular and weight-training equipment, separate exercise room, conference room with flat-screen monitors, kids club, teen lounges with computers and a large-screen television and sports courts. There are also locker rooms, massage rooms and an activities lawn.

Clubhouse hours are from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, except Sunday, when hours are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Club at Madeira Canyon opened late last year. In addition to activities, Hopewell said the lifestyle of the community includes social events such as themed pool parties, movie nights and restaurant samplings. Residents may also schedule services such as massage therapy.

"Given the newness of our community, the summer camps were a great introduction to the types of activities and services we offer within The Club," Hopewell said. "We offer programs all year long, including morning exercise classes and evening yoga sessions. We now have a personal trainer and just added a tennis pro."

The community offers eight floor plans with as many as five bedrooms and 5 1/2 baths. Homes range from 2,096 to 4,817 square feet. Prices start from the $600,000s.

The 487-acre Madeira Canyon master-planned community, where The Club at Madeira Canyon is located, is in southern Henderson at an elevation above the rest of the valley. Amenities include walking trails, an arroyo and parks with sports facilities.

Del Webb homes are constructed with Environments for Living building technology. Homes include blown-in cellulose insulation and dual-pane and vinyl-framed low-e windows.

Additionally, Del Webb offers Signature Standards, which means brand-name amenities come standard. They include granite countertops, York heating and air-conditioning systems, Mohawk flooring, Moen faucets, Kohler plumbing fixtures and General Electric appliances.

To visit, take the southern portion of Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Eastern Avenue and go south, past St. Rose Parkway, to Anthem Parkway, then turn left. Continue on Anthem about six miles, then make a left onto Bicentennial Parkway, a left onto Anthem Highlands Drive, then follow the signs to the model park.
