Councilwoman credits Pardee in helping to build Henderson

One of the first builders in Green Valley, Pardee Homes has been “instrumental in developing Henderson as we know it today,” Henderson City Councilwoman Debra March said.

“With a population of 270,000, we are now on so many good lists, including the 100 Best Places to Live in America as well as the Second Safest Community,” she said.

March, who has lived in a Pardee home in the Seven Hills area of Henderson for 14 years, said she lists Pardee “right at the top for the quality of homes that it builds and its commitment to the community.”

“Some companies come in to make a dollar and leave, but Pardee was right there at the beginning when Green Valley was getting off the ground and will now develop a large part of Henderson’s new Inspirada community,” March said. “Henderson is an exceptional community in large part because of Pardee’s involvement.”

Pardee Homes has built homes for more than 40,000 families in 150 neighborhoods and more than 10 master-planned communities in Southern Nevada since 1952. Pardee has developed 22 neighborhoods in Henderson beginning in 1987, including the company’s first Energy Star homes in 1998.

Pardee was the first large builder in the country to make a companywide commitment to the Energy Star program that increased energy efficiency by at least 30 percent, according to Klif Andrews, Pardee Homes Las Vegas division president.

Pardee has since earned national, state and local awards for building energy-efficient homes through the company’s own LivingSmart program that saves nearly 23,000 tons of greenhouse gases each year.

Pardee offers six new neighborhoods in the Las Vegas Valley, including four LivingSmart Homes neighborhoods: Providence in northwest Las Vegas, Sandstone at Camino Eldorado and Ann Road and Eldorado Ridge and Eldorado Heights in the Eldorado master-planned community in North Las Vegas. Other Pardee homes that include LivingSmart features are Durango Ranch, near the intersection of Pebble and Cimarron roads in southwest Las Vegas, and the new Durango Trail neighborhood at Durango Ranch.

Within the next year, Pardee is scheduled to introduce Horizon Terrace, a new neighborhood of large two-story homes on large lots next door to the popular Horizon Ridge neighborhood in Henderson at Horizon Ridge Parkway and Gibson Road.
