Mom treats herself to Paxton Walk

Tiffany Huey said she had long been fascinated by the mid- and high-rise projects under way in Las Vegas. In particular, she said, she loved the idea of having amenities such as shopping and dining within a short walk from home.

With her daughter leaving for college and with plans announced for Paxton Walk, a mixed-use development combining storefronts, offices and condominiums, rising in the valley's northwest, Huey decided it was time to try something new.

"I've always joked that I would love to live in a hotel with a concierge and room service. My daughter tells me I'm finally going to get to live the lifestyle I've been dreaming of," Huey said.

The location, according to Huey, sealed her purchase. The development, complemented by its range of planned on-site services, such as dry cleaning, day spa, boutique, grocery store and restaurants, is near the junction of Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, and U.S. Highway 95, just two miles from Huey's current home and a short distance from Centennial Center, one of the city's major commercial hubs.

"This is really an up and coming area," Huey said, "and I think it will be a great investment for the future. The Great Mall is coming in and tons of other shopping and restaurants. I think the Paxton location will be very hot in the years to come. I've seen it coming and it's very exciting."

Huey purchased an Addison floor plan, a one-bedroom, single-level condominium measuring 726 square feet. All units include a parking space within an enclosed, controlled-access parking facility. The multi-level garage is situated at the center of the condominiums, allowing residents to drive into a shaded garage right up to the floor on which they live.

"The condominium I purchased is in a building with the amenities, next to the area with the shops," Huey said. "It has everything I need, and the standard features in my home are gorgeous."

The Addison is offered in the Courtyards at Paxton Walk. There are 9 floor plans of flats and two-level condominiums available, ranging from 726 to 1,532 square feet.

Townhomes at Paxton Walk is a series of 65 townhomes along Slade Avenue. Two designs are offered of 1,678 and 1,698 square feet. One design features two bedrooms and a loft space, with the second design including three bedrooms. Both designs have private courtyards and two-car garages.

Residents only amenities include multiple swimming pools, spas and fitness centers.

The 9,000-square-foot clubhouse at the center of the development includes a two-story great room, movie theater, workshop, library, catering kitchen and business center.

The common areas include an Olympic-size pool, rooftop gardens, gazebos, fountains, landscaped walkways and meditation gardens.

Paxton Square Town Center is central to the mixed-use development. The first-story will include 46,000 square feet for retail space including two 7,000 square feet areas designated for restaurants. The second-story will offer 50,000 feet of office space. There are 72 one-level and loft homes on the third and fourth floors, which overlook a 27,000-square-foot courtyard.

The new sales model is open at the Paxton Walk Sales Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Prices range from the $200,000s to the $500,000s.
