Retirees choose Del Webb home

Ben and Gloria Caoile divide their time between living in Virginia and Southern Nevada. The retirees have been visiting Las Vegas frequently over the past three years and had purchased a condominium here as a second home about two years ago.

"We weren't accustomed to typical condo living and wanted more space, comfort and storage -- mainly an attached garage," Ben Caoile said. "At the same time, we wanted a convenient lifestyle, where we'd have easy access to amenities we enjoy having close to home."

The Caoiles, along with their Realtor, Manchu Garna, proceeded to spend about two months looking at many neighborhoods, primarily in the southeastern valley, as they wanted a short commute to the airport. Upon visiting Del Webb's age-qualified Villas at Solera neighborhood at Anthem, they knew their search was over.

"We fell in love with it immediately," Caoile said. "The Villas at Solera offered the perfect home and location for us, along with a wonderful lifestyle as well. It's a small, quiet, gated enclave, with very nice homes and open space areas. We also appreciate having so many opportunities for social and recreational activities here in the community. At our age, we like to exercise frequently, so having the clubhouse facility close by is a great advantage. It's a beautiful and well-equipped facility."

The Villas at Solera is now in the final phase of sales with only about 20 homes still available. Priced from the mid-$200,000s, the neighborhood offers a choice of two patio home designs measuring 1,519 and 1,590 square feet. Designed with easy-living in mind, the neighborhood offers single-story living and a low-maintenance lifestyle, including landscaping that is handled through the home owners association.

The Caoiles purchased a Monroe design, which features two bedrooms, den and two baths in 1,590 square feet.

"We especially like the open feel and great room format of the Monroe design," he said. "The kitchen is very spacious and opens directly onto the family and dining room areas. It's a perfect design for day-to-day living and for entertaining as well. It also offers the space we need when friends and relatives come to visit."

The Caoiles said they were pleased with the service they received from their sales and customer relations people.

"We were very happy with the way we were treated throughout the entire process of buying our home," Caoile said. "Everyone we dealt with was very helpful, knowledgeable and responsive to any of our questions or requests. Based on our experience, we're glad we chose Villas at Solera and Del Webb. We are really enjoying our new home and community."

Residents of The Villas at Solera have access to all the recreational and social amenities of Del Webb's Solera at Anthem community, including a completed 18,000-square-foot community center with a fitness center, indoor pool, club and hobby rooms, billiard tables, computer room and tennis and bocce ball courts.

All of the homes include Signature Standard features, a collection of brand-name features that come with all Del Webb residences. They include Corian solid surface countertops, York heating and air-conditioning systems, Mohawk flooring, Sherwin-Williams paint, Moen faucets, Kohler plumbing fixtures, General Electric appliances, Schlage door hardware and Sea Gull lighting.

Each home at The Villas is also constructed with Environments for Living building technology with blown-in cellulose insulation, conditioned attic spaces, 15 SEER-rated air-conditioning systems and dual-paned, vinyl-framed low-e windows.

To visit, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Eastern Avenue, go south, past St. Rose Parkway, to Anthem Parkway and turn left. Proceed on Anthem past the fire station, turn left on Solera Moon Drive and follow the signs.

Office hours at the sales pavilion are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Wednesday when it opens at noon.
