Ski & Snowboard Groups

Las Vegas Ski & Sports Club, Inc.
The club is the longest established ski and sports organization in Las Vegas. It is active year round and offers a variety of sporting and social events.

Alpine Ski & Snowboard Club
Provides winter sports, travel and social events for Las Vegas adults and organizes trips throughout the United States and Europe. The club meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Tommy Rockers, 4275 Industrial Road, and has monthly parties and Friday socials at various locations. (702) 362-7669.

SNOWBOARD TERMS

Big Air: Competitors launch off a giant table top and are judged by difficulty and style of in-air maneuvers.

Boardercross: Like motocross, competitors tackle a series of jumps and berms with the first to the finish line winning.

Halfpipe: Riders perform tricks in and above the pipe. The only event in Olympic competition.

Jib contest: Competitors perform on handrails and props.

Slopestyle: Competitors navigate a course consisting of kickers, table tops and rails.
