Let’s Talk PBC [Infographic]

(BPT) - Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), formerly known as primary biliary cirrhosis, is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the liver. Although it is a rare disease, PBC affects an estimated one in 1,000 women, and since 1988, has been the second-leading overall cause of liver transplant in women in the U.S. Detecting PBC as early as possible may lead to better management of the disease, however, a recent survey shows there’s a lack of information available for both physicians and patients when it comes to PBC.
