■ HIGHLIGHTS: At Cashman Field, Matt McBride homered, doubled and had two RBIs for Colorado Springs, which limited Las Vegas (34-32) to five hits for the second straight game before a crowd of 7,446. ... Drew Carpenter, who pitched for the 51s last season, threw seven strong innings for the Sky Sox (37-29), scattering five hits while allowing two runs with three strikeouts and no walks. ... Zach Lutz tripled and doubled for the 51s, who fell to 1-4 on their home stand and 15-18 at home. ... The 51s tied it at 2 in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Andrew Brown — who had two outfield assists — before allowing three runs, two unearned, in the seventh.
