■ HIGHLIGHTS: At Tacoma, Wash., Rich Poythress homered, doubled and had three RBIs, Dustin Ackley hit a two-run homer and Carlos Peguero added a solo shot as Pacific Coast League-leading Tacoma (37-24) broke the 51s’ season-high seven-game win streak. ... Brian Bixler was 2-for-3 for Las Vegas (31-27), which had seven hits in the opener of a home-and-home eight-game series against the Rainiers, the Seattle Mariners’ Triple-A affiliate. ... Kirk Nieuwenhuis doubled to lead off the game for the 51s and scored on Wilmer Flores’ groundout. Nieuwenhuis has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games, belting seven of his team-leading 10 home runs during that stretch. ... Las Vegas fell to 17-13 on the road.
